Attorney-at-law (radca prawny) in the Capital Markets Team. He specialises in the law of capital market, with special regard to the law of investment funds. He provides a comprehensive legal assistance to investment fund management companies, both with respect to regulatory issues and on-going activities of investment funds. Because of the full scope of services provided to many financial institutions, his professional interests include regulations on the personal data protection, law of new technologies and MIFID. He has been associated professionally with the capital market since 2010. He was involved in the establishment and provision of comprehensive services to several dozens of investment funds (open-ended and closed-ended, public and non-public) and sub-funds. He was involved in the establishment and provision of services to Alternative Investment Company Managers (ZASI) and Alternative Investment Companies (ASI). He advised to the largest financial institutions in Poland with respect to development of new investment projects, which included preparing documentation and participating in on-going implementation works. He represented financial institutions in proceedings pending before public administration authorities. Mr Filipek has been co-operating with DJM since 2017. Outside DJM, he was gaining experience in internal legal departments of major investment fund management companies, a bank and a brokerage house. He is a member of the Warsaw Bar Association of Attorneys-at-Law (Okręgowa Izba Radców Prawnych w Warszawie). He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw (2011) and postgraduate studies on the Law of New Technologies in the Institute of Legal Sciences at the Polish Academy of Sciences (2019). He is a co-author of the international publication of Chambers Global Practice Guide: Investment Funds 2020 – Poland. He has a command of English (full professional fluency) and German (intermediate level).
